We’re expecting hundreds of coaches to be heading to London for the march, and to help co-ordinate them we have identified a range of coach parks around central London for use on the day. Here are some instructions for coach organisers.
From the North and West
300 parking bays have been secured at Wembley Stadium. The coach park post code is HA9 OWS.
Coach organisers wishing to book a bay at Wembley should go to http://www.gotocsp.com/bookings/event.aspx?eventid=218 and follow the instructions.
Alternatively you can call Telesales on 0208 795 1758 and quote the booking reference ‘TUC Event October 20th 2012′. A total parking fee of £32 per coach is payable.
All coach drivers must be in possession of their online booking to gain entry on the day.
Wembley Stadium coach park will be staffed from at least 8.30am – 6:30pm ensuring early arrivals gain entry and all vehicles have time to depart the site post event.
Wembley arrangements
Wembley will be an important coach park for the event. Wembley Park station is the nearest tube. There were plans to close it to allow maintenance on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines but these have now been scrapped. The map PDF download shows the Wembley stadium area. The ‘P’ next to the stadium shows where coaches will be parking.
There is a good map of the Wembley Complex showing approach routes for drivers here and a Google map of the best route for approaching Wembley here.
From the South and South West
We have secured 200 parking places at New Covent Garden in Nine Elms. The coach park post code is SW8 5BX. All coach drivers must be in possession of their parking permit to gain entry on the day. New Covent Garden coach park will be staffed from 8.30am – 8pm ensuring early arrivals gain entry and all vehicles have time to depart the site post event.
The deadline for booking new places at New Covent Garden has passed. Individual coaches will not be able to ‘pay on the day’ for coach parking at New Covent Garden. We recommend you book any last minute places at Wembley.
From the East
We have secured 50 parking places at the O2 Arena in Greenwich. The coach park post code is SE10 ODX. All coach drivers must be in possession of their parking permit to gain entry on the day. The O2 coach park will be staffed from 7am to 7pm ensuring early arrivals gain entry and all vehicles have time to depart the site post event.
The deadline for booking new places at the O2 Arena has passed. Individual coaches will not be able to ‘pay on the day’ for coach parking at the O2 Arena. We recommend you book any last minute places at Wembley.
Accessibility requirements
A number of tube stations close to the assembly point are accessible (see TFL step free guide) and we will help allocate coaches to drop off points near to accessible stations if we know about special needs in advance.
Coach organisers should let the TUC know of any access issues in your party as soon as possible through the contact page of this site.
We will be using a range of different drop-off points and parking arrangements around London for coaches. One reason for this is to make it easier for access for vehicles delivering and picking up people with disabilities to get to the march – and more importantly to get to pick-up points. There is more information on accessibility and the march here.
